Ms. Detroit Lion entered the NFL as Ms. Portsmouth Spartan in 1930, but has remained consistent in identity since moving to Detroit in 1934. Seen as a perennial loser, she hasn't created any consistent success since several championship victories in the 50s. Many consider the franchise to be cursed by their scorned star player Bobby Layne, though many are hopeful for the franchise's prospects after a promising 2023 season, including a postseason run to the NFC Championship Game.

Despite generally being a weak contender, Ms. Lion possesses intense, long-running rivalries with her fellow divisionmates: Ms. Bear, Packer, and Viking.
